Woodworking

We make artist easels!  They are handcrafted to your specifications from select hardwoods and honed to a fine finish. Prices are reasonable so give us a call at 860-563-4191 and leave a message if you want one, or email us at buckscorner@cox.net.  We will call you back and send you information about sizes and prices and all that.

Grandpa John Buck had a fine set up in the "shop," a 15' x 30' two story frame building just west of the main house. Of course, in his day he did much more than work with wood.

A shaft ran high along the entire north wall of the shop powered by a one-lunger gasoline engine similar to the one shown here.  Energy was transferred from the "pulley" on the engine to the shaft with a wide leather belt.

A forge nestled in the corner where Grandpa made everything necessary from shovels and hinges to parts for his Case tractor and mowing machine.  In the east room of the shop were take offs for a table saw, lathe, band saw, drill press and grinder.

Now we use electricity.  Equipment is compact and efficient but lacks charm.
